The Alhambra

Las Alpujarras (the south side of the Sierra Nevada) is a 15 minute drive from Villa Ithaca. It is a great place for walking, mountain biking, and horse riding etc...

On the North and West sides of the Sierra Nevada mountain range we know some really beautiful places for walking. We recommend Los Cahorros and Trevenque to get you started...

La Sierra de Huetor is situated North East of Granada. The perfect spot to admire the snow covered peaks of the Sierra Nevada. Don’t miss one of our favourite walks : Cañada del Sereno.

La Sierra de Tejeda is where you will find the charming town of Alhama de Granada, known for its thermal waters which have been enjoyed in the past by the romans and the arabes. Nowadays, they have developped modern treatment against arthritis, rhumatism and stress. Before or after a bath in the popular hot springs, we recommend a walk in the beautiful gorge next to the town with a stop at the excellent restaurant El Ventorro.

La Sierra del Torcal, next to Antequera, is a very special place.

Many of our guests intend to visit the famous Alhambra palace and gardens, so we have collected together some useful information and links to help you make the most of your time.

Visitors often don’t realize the benefits of purchasing tickets in advance. The queues for those without tickets can be very long and, if you don’t have them, we advise getting there early.

If you have purchased tickets in advance, by phone or online (phone is best), you can join the much shorter queue known as the ‘taquilla de reserva’ to collect your tickets and avoid the wait (and the early wake up call!).

You can choose to brave the queues and buy a ticket at the entrance but we strongly recommend an advance reservation.

Advance ticket sales may be obtained via La Caixa Bank. The bank itself imposes a small surcharge on the price of a ticket (around 1 euro at the time of writing).

When you order, you will be asked to give dates and times, so you may want to read up on the various ticket types and entry times at

 www.alhambratickets.org

We recommend you make your reservation (they speak english) by phoning La Caixa Bank on one of the following numbers;

        Telephone within Spain: 902 888 001
        Telephone from abroad: + 34 934 92 37 50

You can also order online by going to www.alhambra-tickets.es (administered by La Caixa Bank).

Make sure you obtain and record the reservation number.

We recommend that you purchase an individual ticket for each member of your party since the group ticket does not allow the party to split up once inside.
